Osso Buoco
Ingredients:
6 Veal Osso Buoco
1 Medium Onion
1 Broccoli
3 Cups of Rice
1 Garlic Clove
1 Cup of Flour
1 can diced Tomatoes
Salt & Pepper
½ cup Black Olives
Method:
- Preheat oven between 180-200 degrees.
- Flour both sides of osso bucco, and then sear both sides in a heavy based pan with a little drizzle of olive oil, on the hotplate.
- Once they are all seared, put aside.
- Make sure that the pan can go from hotplate to the oven.
- Add a little extra oil in pan and then lightly fry up the onion till it becomes soft.
- Return the osso bucco to the pan together with the onion and pour your can of diced tomatoes all over.
- You may then salt and pepper to desire.
- Cover the pan with foil and put in the oven for about 50mins.
- The black olives don’t take long to cook so put them in about 15 mins towards the end of cooking.
- Once cooked, serve together with steamed rice and broccoli, and don’t forget the Italian bread.
